Dr. Samuel Gunawan, M.A. 

"Donald Trump’s versus Hillary Clinton’s  Campaign Rhetoric in Their Presidential Nomination Acceptance Speeches"

Samuel Gunawan completed his MA in linguistics focusing on language and culture from University of Michigan (1985), then furthered his interest  and expertise in language, text and culture at Macquarie University (1988) and University of Missouri (1989). He completed his doctorate degree in Literature and Language Education at State University Surabaya (2012). His first teaching post was at Andalas University from 1981 to 2001. Since 2001 he has served as a Senior Lecturer in the  English Department-Faculty of Letters, Petra Christian University Surabaya. Samuel's research interest covers Rhetoric and Communication Arts. 

 

Jeffery Todd Bridges, B.S., M.Ed. 

"Developing Character through Curriculum"

Jeffery Todd Bridges is originally from the United States, but he has experienced life on four different continents.  In all those places he has been a student and a teacher.  Todd is now a lecturer at Petra University in the English Department and has thoroughly enjoyed his time teaching primary skill courses over the last two years.  He believes very much in using curriculum that is strategic, advanced, demonstrates the latest pedagogy, and challenges students to operate with the upmost integrity and character.
